25. Seasons change with scenery, weaving time in a tapestry... [Dec 12, 2008 * 9:57am]
I'm moving out of this building. It's really expensive, y'know, and I've wasted almost ll my gig-money from October, just to pay last month's rent. I finally I went through what I've got left and I don't even have enough to pay for the entirety of December, but I've got holidays to deal with - I'm not sure I can move out and in somewhere at the same time. I mean, I could always take my stuff to Dad's in the meantime, but the original plan had been for him to come stay with me and Malcolm for the holidays this year... things change, life goes on, though.

At any rate - how does everyone like their building in particular? Cheapest vs. swankiest, where's the groovy balance anyhow? I was looking at building 215, because I think I want one of the kittens Eddie's Ellie gave birth to the evening I was there, and the rent would make months with no gigs so much less stressful, y'know? I don't think I deal with stress well. I'm just not a stress person. Sounds obvious enough, but I think a decent amount of folk need stress in their lives, hell, some might even crave it. I know my mum always did - an unstressful life was a wasted one, she always thought.

Anyway, Malcolm was the one who made up for the cost of the pool and spa here, and Simon needed the big rooms. I don't suppose I need either of those anymore.

I do love the winter holidays though, I have to say, whether it's Christmas or Hanukkah or the winter solstice. It's all so lovely, even if certain corporations love to try and commercialise it. Frankly, I'd rather they spend their money to promote the holiday cheer than something else, and I think most of us would be fine without that part of the celebrations. I'll probably be making most of my gifts this year. I thought about giving out some more records, but that seems a bit backwards, doesn't it? Plus I haven't gotten a chance to put much more of it in the studio, holiday season at Twillfit's and all.

I should trim my hair, but I kind of like it longer in the winter.

Merlin, can you tell I've been out of spliff for the last week? Such a crime, y'know. I think I'll go to the light show in the park tonight to make up for it.

Peace & love, and holiday cheer!

Warded to Cadence:
You still interested, lovely? My old flat was just too much, and we shouldn't need more than a two bedroom, anyway, y'know?

Warded Private:
I miss Laura. I can already tell it was the right thing to do... but Merlin, to have her holiday cooking again and to just curl up in her flat and... there's no denying she's a lovely, beautiful person.

24. I wish there was something I could do to make you smile again... [Oct 24, 2008 * 2:14pm]
Tonight is the last in my October series of gigs at Kelly's... I don't feel li Thanks so much to everyone's who's popped by and listened so far - even if it was just because I happened to be singing during your usual pub night. I had an entirely original set planned for tonight but I'm thinking about changing it around a little bit. I've also got my recordings for sale - studio quality thanks to last year's birthday present, but still mostly acoustic until I can either convince some sweet souls to accompany me for free or until I've made enough to actually pay them - as they'd be deserving, y'know?

Money's a funny thing, y'know? We spend so much of our lives focused on it and inevitably it seems like everything we do is for it - I love music and I play it because I want to and I can't get enough of it, but then I need to charge people for things and something as beautiful or open as music shouldn't have to be bought...

But if I have to make money to live, I'd rather have it be doing something I love - and I guess it's not speaking too poorly about the human race when things like art and music are highly valued and therefore cost a decent amount... if only it were more quality art and music. (Of course everyone's got their own thing, man. The definition of both is ever changing and ever flowing. Like a river of groovy creativity.)

Of course, I'm no professional yet really and couldn't even take yesterday off of my job at Twillfit's because of this month's rent and the fact that I've not got anyone helping me with it this time. But life goes on, money's only really man-made currency, it's such a pity it's become a necessity in life. And so much of it too.

I had a lot of things put into perspective this week, I've been deserving of all this bad karma, but I'm hoping the universe lets the gig go well tonight, y'know? I've got some brilliant people in my life but I've lost a few of them in the last year, so I think I need to work on getting back to the good in life, the love in life, and moping around won't do me or anyone any real good.

I'm lonely though. A three bedroom with just me and my guitar is the most draining emptiness I've felt in awhile. Laura would at least stay with me before. Or I could- I

23. He wore his passion for a woman, like a thorny crown... [May 19, 2008 * 12:07pm]
This is why labels are really ungroovy, lovlies. Man, woman, straight, gay, it's all relative really, isn't it? I'm having a bloody good time being a bloke, although it's rot that the blokes are getting stuck being women on their period or whatnot. It doesn't represent what it's like to be a woman completely at all. The sympathy from it might be nice, but other than that, it's too bad you can't enjoy a woman's body properly. I'm trying to decide if I like being a man or woman better. Both are pretty fun in bed.

Simon, Michael, I'm coming home from work early - do you need anything at all? I need to take care of my girls

Takes a lot more splif to get any sorts of high like th

22. And I know I'm fakin' it, I'm not really makin' it... [Mar 18, 2008 * 10:21pm]
For anyone fretting about Laura Madley's whereabouts, or condition after Ellie's bloody terrifying entry and death hypotheses, rest assured she's all right. She fell in the kitchen and her head made hard enough contact with a counter to give her a decent concussion, but she should be all patched up in the morning.

20. Take it, don't turn away... I've been waiting all my life... [Mar 4, 2008 * 2:42pm]
I'M HAVING DINNER WITH THE WEIRD SISTERS TONIGHT!

I just wanted to thank absolutely EVERYONE who showed to my gig on Friday! I know there was short notice so I didn't expect a whole lot of friendly faces but I was pleasantly mistaken. Really, it makes a girl much calmer up on stage with a mic if I can smile at people I know in the audience. While it wasn't my usual gig, I have missed playing with my electric - I'll have to do that more often, I think! People seemed to pay more attention, although, it could have just been because we were louder, y'know? Anyway, thanks again!

Also, I want to start compiling a list of people who I should send a CD to once I get it recorded. I've got a certificate for 100 of them, so let me know, my lovely people.

Also, Simon and I still have an empty room if anyone would like to help with rent join our miniature family. You must like werewolves loud music and vegetarian food, though. (Well not, all the time, but half the nights at least.) And probably shouldn't be allergic to things like incense or pot smoke.

Warded to Bryce's good friends:
I can't believe I get to be Merton Graves' fake date tonight. And we're meeting for coffee beforehand to discuss our obviously dramatic yet endearing romantic history. He's such a brilliant mind and musician I can't wait to see how it all works up close and personal! After my gig Friday night Myron Wagtail and his father came up to me afterward and actually gave me compliments and hell - his Dad said that he likes unsigned acoustic talent more than his "overrated" son's rock band anyway! Overrated - I doubt that but still! I cannot wait to see the dynamic of the Sisters - I mean, if they're all still very human after everything they've been through, done, and been accused of, maybe getting a record deal won't be the worst thing in the world. I mean, that's an exaggeration, I'm sorry, I just meant - I'm wary of it because I don't want to become a materialistic musician who's sold out to make it, y'know? I don't need to, I can sew for the rest of my life, I want my music to be my music and something I can be proud to have people listen to if it ever gets bigger than pub gigs.

Oh Merlin, I'm so excited. I wonder if Merton would play anything on his cello for me - I'd just like to hear it up close and personal, it's such a beautiful instrument and he's such a beautiful person

Life got groovier in the last week. And I'm not even high.

19. The poem across the tracks rebounding, shadowed by the exit light... [Feb 27, 2008 * 11:02am]
Good show on your book, Seamus! I'm almost done with it myself, and it definitely deserves to be on that list! Your writing style's very clever but really easy to understand and relatable - love it!

Speaking of making things: short notice but good news! I'm playing a gig with a BAND on Friday night at Kelly's! I'm singing and playing some guitar, and it's pretty much going to be brilliant. I've never been backed up by a bass and drums, not with my guitar anyway, maybe even some keyboard (that someone else is playing) for it! We're doing some covers, and some of their original things, and even playing one of my songs! I've been working on figuring out the parts for everyone for the last couple weeks or so - I'll admit I'm a bit nervous. I mean, I sang and played a bit at the gala, but the ones the band backed me up for there were fair standard and then I soloed the bits - but yes! The blokes are really brilliant. I don't think it's going to be be a permanent deal, because they only need their rhythm guitar player substituted while he's out of the country for the next month or so. Although, they're usually a jam band, so they may ask me to sing for them more often. I think they have a mate trying to record it.

Speaking of recording as well, I've been working on getting my songs ready for the recording sessions Malcolm's signed me up for, it being his Christmas present to me. It's nothing professional, but it is a real sound studio, and it'll give me good acoustic recordings to hand out or sell at gigs, rather than the few I have from live performances where the sound quality is somewhat rubbish.

On another topic entirely, does that pregnancy potion disturb anyone else? I mean, an embryo gestates for nine months for a reason. Hmmm...

However, life as it is, is pretty good lately. Even with haiku and cupids. How zen was it speaking in Japanese poetry all day? I say very. I definitely wrote a new song with that one. But life's moving on and moving up and that's all I can really ask for, y'know?

18. They lie with you in your sleep, and kiss you when you start your day. [Feb 10, 2008 * 11:28pm]
Valentine's is coming up, right? Yes! Well, as much as I'm not for using such an important thing as love as a pawn to make corporations some cash, I am in a bit of a financial slump. The gigs last month helped a lot, but next month's rent will be due at sometime too So, I thought, maybe I can lend a helping hand to all the couple's out there, while diverting some of the money usually wasted on gnomes delivering flowers or cards that shriek a love poem...

And besides, no one needs to take me up on it if they feel I'm being hypocritical about it all. Basically, I'd love to give myself a run on practicing more covers, and I've been told I have a decent musical skill so I propose some Valentine's serenades! Might even end up giving the money to charity, actually... that sounds like a better idea, but with the empty ROOM in the flat, I just But basically, for just 5 sickles or so, or a few p, give me a song, and the person you'd like to me to sing it to, and where I can find them on the day and I'll serenade them to the best of my abilities! Whether or not you want me to tell them who it's from is up to you, otherwise, it'll be anonymous. And I'll be using my guitar, as... a piano would be hard to lug around in the cold. And if you can't think of a song specifically, I have a plenty you can chose from. Also, give me a sickle more and I'll include a carnation. You pick the colour.

Oh, and if you just want some singing and company for yourself, don't hesitate to give one to yourself - hell, I'll do those for free. Everyone deserves love every day, but I can make an effort show it more on Valentine's.

Peace & love!

17. Someone told me it's all happening at the zoo. I do believe it. [Jan 29, 2008 * 2:51pm]
So I've acquired a Brachiosaurus friend. I came back from work this afternoon to find him outside eating at the plants and when I opened the door he followed me in. He's actually rather big compared to the others I've seen, his head reaches to at least my knee. He's bringing good peaceful vibes though, just taking his time at everything. I think I could learn some things from him, about pacing yourself and enjoying each munch of greens. Very good at the art of non-doing, which not enough of us participate in every day when we probably should. I'll probably have to let him go at some point, not that I'm keeping him here. I've left the door open the whole time in case he wants to venture out, but he seems pretty content.

Oh, and thanks so much for everyone who's come to my shows this month! I can't believe I did all original material at the last one (until I took requests), I've never done that at a gig before. But really, your support's been more than enough to keep a woman going and on her feet for awhile since we have a third person's rent to pay.

Warded to Laura:
Especially yours. If you don't have something in mind for your birthday this weekend, you do know that I'll be happy to provide you with some entertainment, company, and pleasure for the day, right?
